Our operation is divided into four teams; two of them located in Gothenburg. Each team is responsible for members (clients) within a certain geographical area and has all necessary resources to deliver high quality services in relation to all classes of insurance offered by the Club. The underwriters are responsible for negotiating and concluding insurance contracts and ensuring a sound portfolio through proper risk assessment.
Work Description
- As a Trainee you will assist the underwriters generally and be introduced to and obtain training in the following areas:
- Insurance classes and conditions
- Insurance documentation and premium routines
- Risk Assessment
- Negotiation and conclusion of renewals
- underwriting new business
- Developing and maintaining a contact base with members
- Monitoring developments in insurance and shipping markets
- Analysis of markets
- Planning and executing marketing activities
You will have many opportunities to communicate and meet with shipowners and brokers from different countries. Some travelling may be required. Place of work and period of trainee ship
The place of work is our head office in Göteborg. The traineeship period is one year starting 1 September 2010. A trainee salary will be paid. If you do not live in the Göteborg area, you must arrange for your own accommodation.
Qualifications
The position is offered to you who are young, recently qualified with an academic degree involving economics/business administration. In addition, understanding of marine insurance, shipping or nautical matters are useful. Experience from studying or working abroad is also an advantage. You have to be fluent in Swedish as well as in good command of English and be able to express yourself accurately in writing in both languages.
