We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new edition of the MRM programme. With Edition 3.5 we have, among other things, taken an important step in adjusting the programme to suit a wider group of mariners and also shore-based personnel in a better way. All changes are in line with the previous decision to update the course name from BRM (Bridge Resource Management) to MRM (Maritime Resource Management).

For example, we do no longer talk about “Masters” and “Bridge Team Members”. Instead, we talk about “Team Leaders” and “Team Members”. Masters, chief engineers and other managers attend MRM training in their capacity of leaders of teams. In addition, subordinate officers will sometimes have to assume the responsibility for a task and a team.

In the Workshop Leader Guide we have also been able to add comments based on Swedish Club statistics and analyses of accidents. We expect more such contributions in future editions.

Changes will affect Student’s Workbook, Workshop Leader Guide as well as the CBT. The Training Certificate has also been given a new layout.
